Function and purpose
The VT550 Airflow Velocity Meter is essential for measuring and maintaining effective airflow wind and airflow velocity in environments such as near air conditioners, HVAC systems, fans, and ventilation systems. It accurately monitors airflow within a range of 0 to 3 m/s. The sensor consists of two parts for easy installation and integration.
Designed for convenience, the VT550 connects to any analog port (A1...A8) of the Vutlan monitoring unit and is a plug-and-play device, simplifying setup and operation.
For larger monitoring systems, the maximum number of sensors and overall cable length can be extended using the VT408 Sensor Extension Unit, allowing for flexible and scalable airflow monitoring solutions.
This sensor is ideal for ensuring optimal performance of HVAC systems and maintaining effective airflow in various applications.
Used for
The VT550 Airflow Velocity Meter is used for:
HVAC Monitoring: It measures airflow velocity near air conditioners, ventilation systems, and fans to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Monitoring airflow helps maintain the desired temperature and air quality in various environments.
Environmental Control: The sensor can be utilized in environments where airflow is critical, such as laboratories, data centers, and industrial settings. Maintaining proper airflow is essential for equipment cooling and preventing overheating.
Comfort Management: In commercial and residential buildings, the VT550 helps monitor airflow to enhance comfort levels by ensuring adequate air circulation and preventing hot or cold spots.
System Performance Optimization: By measuring airflow velocity, users can diagnose issues within HVAC systems, allowing for timely maintenance and adjustments to improve overall system efficiency.
These applications make the VT550 a valuable tool for effective airflow management across different settings.

Regularly check that the meter is not covered with dust.
Connecting optical access sensor
Connect the meter using the RJ9 (4p4c) jack to the 3-pin JST jack to the sensor.
Connect one end of the RJ11 / RJ12 cable to the monitoring unit into any analog ports (A1...A8) and the other end of RJ11/ RJ12 to the meter.
The sensor is plug-and-play and it will appear automatically in a "System tree" of the web interface.
Installation inside a rack or cabinet using a bracket
Mounting bracket
The mounting bracket is supplied with each "VT550 / Wind velocity meter". Use a wire cutter and pliers to cut and bend the bracket to Your needs.
Installation
The sensor measures the speed of the wind. If you install it too far away from the the air-conditioner, there will be no wind velocity or very little.
It is best to install the sensor as close as possible to the origin of the wind. The sensor should work in the stream and the correct installation distance should be obtained by trial and error.
The bracket steel thickness is 0.8 mm. Below You can find how users can mount the "VT550 /Wind velocity meter" with such a bracket.
