 IP Camera settings

The Vutlan web interface supports only IP cameras with JPEG / MJPEG video stream compression format, so please make sure that your camera supports "MJPEG" or "JPEG" over HTTP.

URL (IP-address)

The URL (IP address) of the camera is required with the protocol type (Http:// or https://).

The most common URL format (IP address) is "http://xx.xx.xx.xx/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi". You can try using this URL in the first set up of the camera.

In general, the URL of the video stream for IP cameras depends on the manufacturer and model. To determine this URL, please contact the cam manufacturer.

For example, the URL format for "Dahua" cameras can be found here.

MJPEG stream (when it is correctly configured) can be seen directly in the browser on the same local area network as the Vutlan monitoring unit.
Check the command line of the camera for access to the stream of MJPEG.
It must be like this:
http://your_username:your_password@ip_cam_addr:ip_cam_port/path_to_stream

Login and password on some cameras are entered in special fields. Then you need to write it yourself in the path line. Like this:
http://ip_cam_addr:ip_cam_port/path_to_stream_with_login_and_password

Some browsers are blocked sources from cross origin (Chrome):
https://developer.chrome.com/blog/referrer-policy-new-chrome-default/

In this case, the browser will display the video only, but will not display it as part of the web interface.

Username and password

The camera's video stream authentication. Optional parameters.

It is not allowed to use the name and password as a prefix in the URL field (IP address).

Recommended FPS

The refresh rate of an image for the generation of a video stream from a JPEG web interface or MJPEG when streaming directly by an IP camera

Proxy

If the camera is on the internal network and does not have access from outside (from the Internet), then you can use proxying and access the camera's video stream. Only one proxy camera is supported.

Preview

Stream output from the camera. If the camera is on a different subnet, the picture may not be available without proxying.

If the image is missing, please make sure that the hardware settings are correct (For example, enter the URL in your browser's address bar).

Proxy URL

If proxying is used, then the address for direct access to the video stream is displayed here. If the camera and the monitoring unit are not on the same network, this option can be used.

If the proxy of the camera is incorrectly configured, the server may crash. In this case, the server will be restarted in safe mode, and a corresponding message will be displayed in the log tab.

IP Camera settings

To view the image stream from the cameras, go to the "Cameras" section of the main menu. This panel is specially made for operators who need to monitor the cameras. The "Cameras" section does not allow the editing of cameras. In order to edit camera settings go to "System Tree" >> IP cameras >> find the cameras You need and press on it to edit.
