Function and purpose

“VT608t VT608t / Switched PDU with 8 outlets” is used for load management and allows Outlets is a versatile power distribution unit designed for effective load management in various environments. It enables users to switch on/, off, or reboot up to 8 outlets.“VT608t / Switched PDU with 8 outlets” is also used for environmental monitoring (e.g. temperature, humidity, voltage, leakage, smoke, airflow). It is also used as an I/O controller (e.g. door control, fans, generator, control panels, UPS, circuit breakers, and alarms). Can use up to 700 different elements - eight individual outlets, providing flexible control over connected devices.

In addition to its power management capabilities, the VT608t also supports comprehensive environmental monitoring, including:

  • Temperature Monitoring: Keeps track of temperature levels to prevent overheating of equipment.

  • Humidity Monitoring: Ensures optimal humidity levels to protect sensitive devices.

  • Voltage Monitoring: Tracks voltage levels to safeguard against power surges or drops.

  • Leakage Detection: Monitors for water leaks to prevent damage to equipment.

  • Smoke Detection: Alerts users to potential fire hazards.

  • Airflow Monitoring: Ensures proper ventilation for cooling systems.

Furthermore, the VT608t functions as an I/O controller, making it suitable for various applications such as:

  • Door Control: Manage access points securely.

  • Fan Control: Regulate cooling systems to enhance equipment performance.

  • Generator Control: Manage backup power sources effectively.

  • UPS Management: Monitor and control uninterruptible power supplies.

  • Circuit Breaker Control: Automate circuit management for safety and efficiency.

  • Alarm Systems: Integrate alarms for enhanced security.

With the ability to manage up to 700 elements—including notifications, triggers, timers, logic schemes, sensors, and dry contacts. Has contacts—the VT608t offers robust functionality for complex setups. It features a built-in Web interface with web interface, allowing users to create virtual sensors, implement logic schemes, different and set up various types of notifications , and control panels . Has a slot for an LTE modem for an ethernet connection reservation.

Use cases

The VT608t / Switched PDU with 8 Outlets is designed for a variety of use cases, making it an essential tool in environments that require reliable power management and environmental monitoring. Here are some of its key applications:

  1. Data Center Management: The VT608t allows data center operators to manage power to servers and networking equipment efficiently. By switching outlets on and off remotely, technicians can perform remote reboots and ensure optimal load distribution, which is crucial for preventing overheating and ensuring uptime.

  2. Environmental Monitoring: This device enables the monitoring of critical environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, voltage, and smoke. In data centers or server rooms, maintaining specific conditions is vital to prevent equipment damage. For instance, a spike in temperature detected by the VT608t can trigger alarms or automatic fan activation to cool down the equipment.

  3. Control of Peripheral Equipment: The VT608t can be used to control peripheral devices such as fans, generators, and UPS systems. This functionality is especially useful during power outages, where the system can automatically switch to backup power while also managing other connected devices to maintain operations.

  4. Security Systems: With its ability to control doors and alarms, the VT608t serves as a part of an integrated security system. It can manage access control systems and monitor for unauthorized access, ensuring that sensitive areas remain secure.

  5. Customizable Logic Schemes: Users can set up complex logic schemes to automate responses based on specific conditions. For instance, if the humidity exceeds a set threshold, the system can automatically activate dehumidifiers or fans.

  6. Energy Management: By monitoring voltage and power usage across multiple devices, the VT608t helps organizations optimize energy consumption and reduce costs. Alerts can be configured to notify operators of unusual power draw patterns that might indicate malfunctioning equipment.

  7. Remote Monitoring and Management: The built-in web interface allows for easy remote access, enabling IT staff to monitor and control systems from anywhere. This capability is essential for businesses that operate multiple facilities or have off-site management needs.

These use cases illustrate the versatility and importance of the VT608t in modern IT and facility management, helping organizations maintain operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. For more detailed information, you can check the Vutlan product page directly.
