Function and purpose

The VT530 Access Sensor is essential for access control and is designed to monitor the status of doors and windows (open or closed). It consists of two parts: a magnet and a sensor, ensuring accurate detection of access points being opened or closed. It can be connected to any analog port (A1...A8) of the Vutlan monitoring unit and supports daisy chaining, allowing multiple sensors to be linked in a series for easy and scalable installations.

For larger systems, the number of sensors and overall cable length can be extended using the VT408 Sensor Extension Unit, allowing for scalable access control across multiple entry points.

This sensor is ideal for securing sensitive areas and ensuring continuous monitoring of entry status.

Info

The sensor can not be used on its own. It must be used together with Vutlan monitoring systems.

Used for

The VT530 Access Sensor is primarily used for:

  1. Access Control: It monitors the status of doors and windows (open or closed), making it ideal for securing entry points in sensitive areas like server rooms, data centers, and restricted facilities.

  2. Intrusion Detection: It can detect unauthorized access attempts by monitoring the status of doors and windows, and alerting security systems when entry points are breached.

  3. Automation Systems: Integrated into automation systems, it can trigger actions such as locking doors, activating alarms, or adjusting environmental controls when doors or windows are opened or closed.

  4. Server Rack Access Control: It monitors whether server rack doors are open or closed, providing real-time status updates. This is critical for securing sensitive IT equipment and preventing unauthorized access to servers and networking hardware.

This sensor is crucial in environments where constant access monitoring is required for safety, security, or automation purposes.

Mounting bracket

Installation

Bracket steel thickness is 0.8 mm. Below You can find how users can mount "VT530 / Access sensor" with such a bracket.

Example 1

The sensor with the bracket is mounted using an M4.8mm bolt to the top of the rack. The magnet is mounted using an M4.8mm bolt or a sticker to the door of the rack. When A mounting bracket is supplied with the unit.

Installation

Example 1

The magnet needs to be mounted on the door or the window. If the door is open, the switch is Open. If the door is closed, the magnet is close to the sensor. If the door is starting to open, the magnet will be far away and the sensor will show an alarm.
