Sending system logs to FTP server

Logs, sensor data, elements settings, etc. can be sent to a specified FTP server. Data files are first stored on the device (on the USB flash drive or the SD Card), and for some time (in 00:00 by device time) are sent to the FTP server. Sending files can take up to several minutes, so when you restart, there may be a loss of recent data. Keep this in mind when organizing the storage of backup information. Video files (from a USB Web camera) are sent immediately after creation.

When files are sent to the FTP server, files from the media (SD Card or USB Flash, with priority on SD Card) are used. Therefore, to send the log to the FTP server, you must enable logging to the media.

To manage the FTP go to the tab: Preferences >> Logging >> FTP Log.

Through this tab, the user can control the parameters:

  • Status - reflects the status of the server connection;

  • Enable logging to FTP - enables and disables the function of sending the log files to FTP server;

  • Save video files - enables and disables the function of saving video records;

  • Enable detailed logging - enables and disables the recording of the per-second values of the selected sensors;

  • Server - the path to the FTP server;

  • Port - the port of the FTP server;

  • Login - user name;

  • Password - user password;

  • “Lifetime of files” - the lifetime of the files, all older files are deleted from the FTP server (if the server supports it).

Buttons at the bottom of the panel provide:

  • Refresh - update tab data;

  • Save - the preservation and use of the logging options;

  • Send - send the current log files to the FTP server, if files are available.
