Creating dew point element / sensor
What is dew point?
The dew point of a given body of air is the temperature to which it must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor. This temperature depends on the pressure and water content of the air. When the air is cooled below the dew point, its moisture capacity is reduced and airborne water vapor will condense to form liquid water known as dew. When this occurs through the air's contact with a colder surface, dew will form on that surface.
The dew point is affected by the air's humidity. The more moisture the air contains, the higher its dew point.
If all the other factors influencing humidity remain constant, at ground level the relative humidity rises as the temperature falls; this is because less vapor is needed to saturate the air.
Calculate dew point
In order to calculate the dew point, you need to choose which connected humidity sensor and temperature sensor values you want to use.

You will be presented with a modal window:
Press the

configuration window.
Name | Name the element |
ID | System ID of the element. Will be given once the element is saved in the system. |
Type | dewpoint |
Class | analog |
Current state | Not connected / Connected |
Current value | The value calculated using chosen humidity and temperature current values. |
Temperature sensor | Choose a connected temperature sensor you want to use in the calculation. |
Humidity sensor | Choose a connected humidity sensor you want to use in the calculation. |
Thresholds | Configure the thresholds. These thresholds can be used inside the logic schemes to program notifications and actions. Low alarm, Low warning, Normal, High warning, High alarm Read more at Adding logic schemes & Logic schemes panel |
Hysteresis type | Sensors have the option of setting the hysteresis state. Hysteresis can be a time, a value or it can be disabled. If the hysteresis is set in time, the sensor will transmit to a new state with a delay of the specified number of seconds in the corresponding field. The time counting will begin from the moment when the measured value of the sensor has left the current range. Read more at: Sensor configuration |
