Creating dew point element / sensor

What is dew point?

The dew point of a given body of air is the temperature to which it must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor. This temperature depends on the pressure and water content of the air. When the air is cooled below the dew point, its moisture capacity is reduced and airborne water vapor will condense to form liquid water known as dew. When this occurs through the air's contact with a colder surface, dew will form on that surface.

The dew point is affected by the air's humidity. The more moisture the air contains, the higher its dew point.

If all the other factors influencing humidity remain constant, at ground level the relative humidity rises as the temperature falls; this is because less vapor is needed to saturate the air.

Calculate dew point

In order to calculate the dew point, you need to choose which connected humidity sensor and temperature sensor values you want to use.

  1. Vutlan Web Interface >> System tree panel >> Press the plus sign at the top right corner:

  1. You will be presented with a modal window:

  1. Press the Dew point in the modal window.

  2. This will open a Dew point configuration window.

Hysteresis type

Sensors have the option of setting the hysteresis state. Hysteresis can be a time, a value or it can be disabled.

If the hysteresis is set in time, the sensor will transmit to a new state with a delay of the specified number of seconds in the corresponding field. The time counting will begin from the moment when the measured value of the sensor has left the current range.
Each state has its own field. Which determines the time that the sensor value must continuously hold for the state to change to the specified.

Dew point element location

All saved Dew point elements can be found in the Vutlan Web Interface in System tree panel >> Virtual sensors

Click on any of the elements to open a modal configuration window for this element.

Using dew point in logic schemes

Once the Dew point is created, it can be used inside logic schemes for programming notifications and actions.
