Sometimes you may need a full software recovery of the appliance.

Remember: if unit is working, but CAN bus is broken for example, first of all, please save settings → System menu → Export→ Download current settings file <Settings.vut>. Use this file for automatic upgrade after recovery! Also check if CAN is anabled >> CAN settings in Networks Settings!

Attention! All user information and preferences will be destroyed forever if a full software recovery is used! Please Backup settings!

Restoring the factory firmware is done by downloading the program from the SD Card. To record the image on the card, you must use a special program.

  1. Download and install the program Etcher. The program is easy to manage.

  2. Install a suitable micro SD Card through the reader or an adapter into the computer.

  3. Download and specify the file to write to the card (the file of the factory firmware has the word "factory" in the name). You can download the driver at "Latest Vutlan drivers for VT855i series (VT335i, VT825i, VT855i)"

  4. Select a card and click "Flash!". Wait until the end of the recording process.

  1. Make sure the “N - R" DIP switch is in the right position:

    • N” / Normal mode: The switch is switched to the left ←. Booting from an SD card is blocked.

    • “R” / Restore of appliance: The switch is switched to the right →. Used to load the clean system image from an SD card.

  2. Insert the card into the SD card slot of the unit and press the Restart button.

  3. The Error LED will start blinking after the system is restarted. This means that the system is installed.

  4. ACT LED will light up after a successful end of the installation.

  5. Remove the card, switch the “N - R” switch to “N” position, and reboot the device.
